Building works at Liverpool Cathedral.

Following our successful bid to secure funding from Allchurches Trust as part of our £24m by 2024 Campaign, we’re carrying out essential maintenance work to ensure our Cathedral is handed on to future generations in the best possible condition.
We’ve tried to ensure visit won’t be disrupted; so much of the repair and maintenance work has been planned outside of worship and events where possible.
You may see evidence of the repair work we need to do. For instance, scaffolding towers so any maintenance or investigative work can be carried out safely. And to protect our marble flooring, special matting is in place to prevent any debris damaging the floor. Please accept our apologies if we’re not looking our best while we’re investing in our Cathedral
To protect you, there may be restricted or changed access to the Cathedral itself, or parts of it. Please bear with us, this work is part of our £24m by 2024 campaign.
In some areas, access for those with disability needs will need to be also changed. We apologise for an inconvenience this may cause. If you need any assistance during your visit please contact our Welcome Desk. Or you can contact the Constables Lodge prior to your visit on 0151 702 7260.
Acting Dean, Rev Canon Myles Davies said:
“The generous donations we receive, along with income from our shop, our restaurants and money from services and events, allow us to carry out maintenance and repair work to our Cathedral, ensuring our majestic building is fit for generations to come. The Cathedral Team is working hard to minimise disruption to all our visitors. Thank you for your continued support.”
