Welcome to this bumper e-news. Our e-news this week is like the Radio Times or should I say the Church Times, it is a double issue! The Cathedral Chapter and I want to wish you a peaceful and hope filled Christmas and New Year. It has been a challenging year to say the least and let us pray for a better one next year. We are eternally grateful for all the support you have given us over the past year as individuals and as organisations.
The Friends of Liverpool Cathedral have been exceptionally generous to the Cathedral in these very challenging times and we are grateful for their financial support throughout the past year. We are also grateful to all of you who keep the Cathedral beautiful with flowers, who mend or embroider vestments, who steward the services, who do the welcome, who keep the place clean and beautiful.
The music has been much missed this year and in the missing we appreciate all the more the talents of our musicians. Thanks to Music Department and the Cross Guild for enhancing our worship. Thanks also to the staff, volunteers, the Cathedral Company and of course the clergy. May you celebrate the birth of Christ in peace and hope.
May God, who has called us out of darkness

Micah Liverpool Thank You
The trustees, staff, and volunteers at Micah Liverpool wish to send their warmest thanks to the entire Cathedral Company for their generous support throughout 2020 and especially during the month of December. Micah’s food pantries, community markets, and volunteer programs have helped to combat food insecurity, isolation, and unemployment in our city. Here’s to a better year in 2021!
Canon Myles’ Retirement
Canon Myles will retire from the Cathedral in his current role in January. We have organised a service to mark his retirement as Canon Precentor and in the same service to launch him as Cathedral Chaplain. The date of the service is January 10. We will also hold a diocesan service later in the year to give thanks to Myles for his ministry in the Diocese and in the Cathedral.
If you would like to contribute to Myles’ retirement gift then please do put your donation in an envelope and mark it Myles’ retirement and pop it into one of the donation boxes. Encountering Faith
Recommences in January as we continue our journey through Philippians. The evening sessions will move to Mondays 7-8pm, beginning on 18th January. The lunchtime sessions will remain on Thursdays, 1-2pm, beginning on 21st January. /getting-involved/Exploring-Faith.
Alpha On-line
For those who wish to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed and unpressurised way, either as enquirers or for a ‘refresher’. Alpha On-line commences via Zoom on Thursday 14th January 2021, 7-8.30pm.

Hot drinks and a limited selection of sandwiches and treats are available for takeaway or eat-in purchase.
