Could you be in our Cathedral Youth Choir?

Auditions for this exciting new choir will be held on Saturday 12th September after our 3pm Evensong. If you are aged between 14 and 25 and can read music and play an instrument then come along and give it a go.
We spoke to Stephen Mannings, Assistant Choral Director & Choral Animateur, who explained what will make this choir different from our other choirs; “For choristers, it bridges the gap between when they leave the cathedral choir to potentially after finishing post-graduate studies, and beyond!”
The qualities of singer that Stephen is looking for will reflect the high standard already expected of this choir “We need experienced singers who can read music relatively well and who already play an instrument of some sort. Current engagements planned for the choir include: Occasional Choral Evensongs, Blessing of the Crib service & Midnight Mass.”
So what is it like singing in the cathedral that makes it unique? “Liverpool Cathedral is one of the largest cathedrals in the world. To sing in it, and to hear your voice bouncing off the many walls and galleries, and to the accompaniment of the world famous Willis organ is an experience we hope you’ll never forget!”
