As we welcome people back to public worship and visiting us, we achieve the Visit Britain, ‘We’re Good To Go’ accreditation.

The Dean of Liverpool, The Very Revd Dr Sue Jones offers these words of welcome to visitors and worshippers

On Sunday 19 July 2020, we open our doors ready to welcome our first service-goers to public worship and visitors since we closed our Grade 1 listed building in March this year (2020).

To make your visit safe, we’ve reviewed our operations and put in place systems. You can find out the changes made and what to expect on the Visiting Us section of our website.

As part of this activity to make your visit safe we’ve achieved ‘We’re Good To Go’ accreditation, which is the official UK mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Paul Smith, Director of Enterprise at Liverpool Cathedral said: "We're really pleased to receive Visit Britain's ‘Good to Go’ accreditation.  In all our build back preparations, which we've been undertaking over the last few months, we've been advised that providing reassurance that venues are safe and well managed is vital.  This accreditation will hopefully allay some of those worries.”

He added: "Achieving ‘Good to Go’ status is a credit to the huge amount of hard work and dedication which our staff and volunteers have put in for the last few weeks. We know that coming to the Cathedral is going to feel different in the coming weeks and months, but we wanted to assure our visitors that one thing which hasn't changed is our desire to give people a warm welcome and a positive experience."
