Music lessons at Liverpool Cathedral

Building on the success of our 'Teeny Maestros' early-years music programme, the Music Department at Liverpool Cathedral is now offering more music courses with the aim of taking our young people on the next step up in their musical training.
With courses such as learning to play the ukelele and music theory being offered, the aim is to develop musicianship.
Stephen Mannings, Director of Choral Outreach said “Our first course to launch is the Ukulele course. It begins on Saturday 21st September and will be delivered by Dr Chris Newton. Chris is one of our newest colleagues to the music department and arrives with us after spending 25 years teaching in an international school in Sao Paolo, during which time he gained a Phd in International Education. The course he’s running is perfect for children aged 5-8 who wish to learn the ukulele in a fun, relaxed group setting. Each lesson will combine games with practical learning, allowing the children to explore their musical foundations in an exciting and informative way.”
