News from Liverpool Cathedral - A place of Encounter
Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 19 September
Welcome from Dean Sue
Welcome to our weekly e-news. There are lots of things starting in the next few weeks and it has been good to see the return of the Dinners in the Cathedral as this gives the Cathedral some much-needed revenue.
During the next few weeks, in the lead-up to Harvest, we are asking people to think about generosity and how God has been generous to us. The Church of England has launched the campaign and we feel that here at Liverpool Cathedral we have a lot to be thankful for and we are grateful particularly for God’s generosity towards us as individuals and as the Cathedral as a community.
If you want to know more about the campaign then you can head to the Church of England website.
we receive so much from you,
and therefore have much to give.
Help us to share in the blessings of giving
as well as the happiness of receiving,
that your love may be more widely,
shared through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We are in the process of updating our Community Roll, the list of members of the Cathedral, including those who live further away but who retain an active interest. It can also include people who join us on-line for worship, discipleship and other activities. It has been a very valuable resource for the clergy through lockdown, to help us keep in touch. If you are not on the Roll, or need to update your details, please go to the link below, to complete and submit the simple form linked here: https://liverpoolcathedral.beaconforms.com/form/c2255dbe.
Thank you. If you have any queries, then please contact Canon Neal on email@example.com.
A Choir for Every Age

The Junior Choir and Gilbert Scott Singers are rehearsing in-person again, and Liverpool64 should be returning imminently. To discuss joining a choir, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.

Cathedral Confirmation Service – Sunday 7th November 2021
We are delighted that the Bishop of Liverpool will be joining us this November to preside at a Confirmation service. Confirmation is the occasion when we can confirm the promises made by us or for us at Baptism in a special service in which the Bishop lays hands on our heads to ask for God’s continuing blessing and anointing of the Holy Spirit. If you are interested in being confirmed, then please speak to Canon Philip, if you are part of the Music Department, or Canon Neal if you are part of the wider Cathedral community.
Community Lunch – Sunday 21st November 2021
Yes, it’s back! We are looking forward to re-starting our community lunches – with the first being held on Sunday 21st November at 12:15 in the Dining Room. All are welcome from all communities within the cathedral. To maintain being safe and cautious for this first one, please bring your own food, just for yourself….and we will provide hot drinks and juice. But, as before……all are welcome and we can have lunch together whilst enjoying each other’s company, in friendship and fellowship!
