Welcome to Liverpool Cathedral e-news on this the 4th Sunday of Epiphany. Information about the activities taking place on-line can be found in this newssheet. A reminder for those wishing to prepare for Sunday worship that on the Prayer for Liverpool website (https://www.prayerforliverpool.org/) there is the Exploring the Sunday Gospel material and also children’s activities that relate to the weeks theme.
Next week we will be celebrating Candlemas and in the afternoon we will be live-streaming the installation of the new Canon Precentor, The Revd Canon Dr Philip Anderson.
The Bishop will be present for that service, so please do go to our Facebook page for this at 3pm on 7 February. This is not a public act of worship with a congregation, but our usual Sunday afternoon live streamed service.
Philip will be presiding and preaching on February 14 at the 10.30 pre-recorded service. Please pray for Philip as he moves house on Friday and as he prepares for his ministry among us.
The Canon Theologian requires your Help
Canon Theologian Leslie Francis would like some help with his research. During the first lock down he developed, with a colleague, a survey to assess the impact of the lockdown on the church and its people. The first survey got over 10,000 responses and has been helpful to the wider Church. The research project is being re-run and clergy and lay people are being asked for their opinion.
The questionnaire will take about 20 minutes of your time, which will enable you to give a thorough picture of your experiences and opinions. This is an online survey. Most of the questions simply require you to click boxes, though there are options to specify your particular circumstances, and an opportunity at the end for you to tell us your views in your own words.
My hope is that this time there will enough responses from people attending cathedrals for Leslie to be able to provide a helpful profile of cathedral ministry during the lockdown.

Cathedral Company Zoom Call

Encountering Faith

Alpha On-line

Lent Lectures
The annual Lent Lectures will be on Mondays 22nd February – 22nd March inclusive, all on-line via FaceBook and YouTube; 7pm-8.15pm. Further details to follow shortly.
