This week’s News from Liverpool Cathedral – a Place of Encounter

Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 17 January 2021.
Welcome from Dean Sue
Welcome to Liverpool Cathedral e-news. Well it is all changed again as we move the Cathedral worship online in order to keep people safe. I thanked God when I heard that places of worship could remain open when the current restrictions were announced at the end of December. Little did I know that we would end up making the decision to close. It was a hard decision as I for one see the value in worship for people’s spiritual and mental health, but we began to feel that to keep people safe we needed to close. We will keep reviewing this so watch this space.
You can continue to worship with us from your home as we will live-stream all services Monday to Saturday and Sunday morning we will have the usual pre-recorded service. Weekday services can be found on Liverpool Cathedral Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LiverpoolCathedral), and Sunday’s service can be found through our Cathedral YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/LiverpoolCathedral).
As we continue to travel this ever changing landscape we are reminded in this Epiphany season that Christ is with us and that he walks in the darkness with us. But Christ also offers us hope in this season as his Glory is revealed to us. A hope that comes to its climax in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
So live in hope that light will come from the darkness and above all live in hope that as we walk with Christ we will see God’s Glory.
Eternal Lord,
Our beginning and our end:
Bring us with the whole creation
To your glory, hidden through past ages
And made known
In Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen
