Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 29th November 2020.

Welcome from Dean Sue

Welcome to our e-news as we move towards Advent Sunday. It will be a strange beginning to Advent as we hold our Darkness to Light Service virtually at 5.30 on Advent Sunday. See the event page here: /events-calendar/_from_darkness_to_light_29_11_2020_online. These are, as we know, challenging times and the normal way of operating will not apply in the run up to Christmas this year. All services in the next few weeks will need to be booked through our web-site. But don’t let that stop you from reflecting on the Advent theme of Hope. Hope that we see in the birth of that tiny baby destined to change and transform the world. So please do begin your Advent journey of Hope by watching our Darkness to Light Service and give thanks for the Hope given and received through the prophets of old and through the birth of the Christ child.

Pre-booking for Christmas services

We will be offering as many of our special Christmas services as possible, despite the current difficulties. Assuming that the national lockdown ends on 2nd December, these will be: the Nativity Service (6th), Crib and Tree service (13th), and Holly Bough services (19th and 20th), two Christmas Eve services (1.00pm and 3.30pm this year), and the usual Christmas Midnight and Christmas Day services. There will be no Christmas Sequence this year.

Please note: seating capacities for all of these services will be dramatically reduced this year in order to comply with Covid-19 measures. To attend any of our special services you will need to pre-book via EventBrite please.

Tickets on EventBrite will be made available 16 days before each of the services.
