Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 28 February 2021

Welcome from Dean Sue

A very warm welcome to this week’s e-news. Life is slowly returning to the Cathedral and it was good to welcome some people to worship last week. We continue to hope and pray that we can continue a steady build back in readiness for Palm Sunday Holy Week and Easter.

It was good to host the first of the Lent Lectures last week and to think of some issues beyond our immediate situation. Do join us on a Monday evening at 7pm for more lectures.

As we continue to journey through Lent we are reminded of the call to follow Christ even to the cross.

Gracious Father,

You gave up your Son

Out of love for the world;

Lead us to ponder the mysteries of his passion,

That we may know eternal peace

Through the shedding of the saviours blood,

Jesus Christ Our Lord Amen.

Covid-19 & Church-21

Could I please ask you to help the Canon Theologian by completing the survey. Last week he went to look at Liverpool Cathedral responses and only a couple of people had completed the survey which is not enough to analyze!

During the first lock down he developed, with a colleague, a survey to assess the impact of the lockdown on the church and its people. The first survey got over 10,000 responses and has been helpful to the wider Church. The research project is being re-run and clergy and lay people are being asked for their opinion.

The questionnaire will take about 20 minutes of your time, which will enable you to give a thorough picture of your experiences and opinions. This is an online survey. Most of the questions simply require you to click boxes, though there are options to specify your particular circumstances, and an opportunity at the end for you to tell us your views in your own words.

My hope is that this time there will be enough responses from people attending cathedrals for Leslie to be able to provide a helpful profile of cathedral ministry during the lockdown.

The survey can be completed on mobile phones (point your camera at the QR code), or it can be accessed using the following link: https://tinyurl.com/y4fqgrzq

Micah Liverpool Shopping List

Micah’s stores are hitting a bit of a dry spell during this season of need so any donations would be most welcome! The scarcest items at the moment are pasta and rice, dry cereal, UHT milk, and toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap). Many thanks!
