Judges Service: Sunday 18th October 2020

This years’ service to mark the beginning of the Legal Year is to be held virtually. The link to the service will be available on the Cathedral website on Sunday 18th October at 10.30am. The preacher at the service will be The Right Reverend Philip North, Bishop of Burnley.

The Cathedral Eucharist will be celebrated in the Cathedral at 10.30am that morning.

Alpha Online
We are starting Alpha Online, on-line (using Zoom) on Thursday 8th October, 7-8.30pm. Alpha is a great way for people who are enquiring about the Christian faith and the person of Jesus to explore that in an informative, friendly and unpressurised way. You can find more information on the following link to the relevant page of our website: /events-calendar/alpha_online_autumn_2020.

Encountering Faith
If you want to dig deep into the Bible, please join us for a series on the book of Philippians, starting on-line (and recorded) on Thursday 8th October, 1-2pm. You can find more information on the following link to the relevant page of our website: /getting-involved/Exploring-Faith.

Supper with the Scriptures
Every Monday evening, 7-8pm on Zoom, we gather with our ‘Supper’ to discuss some part of the Bible. At the moment, we are working through the Acts of the Apostles. A great way to start to get into the Bible. You can find more information on the following link to the relevant page of our website:
/getting-involved/Exploring-Faith.

Prayer Requests
Our ‘Prayer Wall’, set up at the start of the pandemic, is still live. You can post prayer requests to us at:
https://www.prayerforliverpool.org/.

Events at Liverpool Cathedral
From early October, catering is due to return at the cathedral, but will be returning in a limited way until visitor numbers begin to pick up. The new service will be carried out within government guidelines, utilising the magnificent space within the cathedral to ensure adequate social distancing. Watch this space for more details. To keep track of the latest information and any changes, keep an eye on the Events page of the Cathedral website: Liverpool Cathedralhome/events-calendar.

Cathedral Shop

It won’t be too long before we will be writing out our Christmas cards! Make us your destination for Christmas card purchases this year, along with Cards for Good Causes we will have the largest selection of charity cards, available from early October.

Are you up for a challenge? The Cathedral shop has a new range of 1000 piece Jigsaw’s available including a wonderful Liverpool Landmarks puzzle. This range is one of many available online – why not come in for a browse: www.cathedralshop.com.

All profits from the shop directly support the ever increasing work of Liverpool Cathedral.

Donate to Liverpool Cathedral
Please consider making a donation to the Cathedral in these very challenging times. We estimate the financial impact of Covid to be a loss of around £650k. We have received funding of c £400k but it’s still a huge financial challenge for us. Within this we have noticed a significant fall in levels of congregational giving (down by over £20,000 so far this year). We’d be very happy to talk to you in more detail about how you can support us. If you’d like to make a donation, please follow this link to the relevant page of our website: Liverpool Cathedralhome/make-a-donation.
