Plan your visit around our Sunday worship
We are first and foremost a place of worship and daily services are important to us. This is particularly true if you visit on a Sunday
To enable us to offer our regular congregations the finest worship we are unable to receive group visitors on a Sunday between 8am and 12 noon. Visitors are more than welcome to join us for our Sunday worship but otherwise we advise you to avoid coming to our cathedral on a Sunday morning. We will be delighted to welcome groups and visitors.in the afternoon when you will get the best possible visit. We thank you for your cooperation.
The Lady Chapel on a Sunday
We are delighted that the presence of our Sepas congregation and the strength of other worship services means that the Lady Chapel is used for most of a Sunday. If you wish to see the beautiful chapel then you may wish to visit on a different day.
Will your visit be affected?

Click on the logo below to read what our visitors are saying about Liverpool Cathedral:
In the great port city of Liverpool, I climbed to the open-air rooftop of a huge Neo-Gothic church – 108 steps after two elevator rides. The size of Liverpool Cathedral is just staggering. A 20th century creation, it is Britain’s biggest cathedral and the largest Anglican cathedral in Europe. Performance opportunities at lunchtime’s concerts are available for visiting choirs.
In the late 1800s Liverpool was humming and the city decided to pay tribute to this success with the building of England’s largest cathedral – a title it still holds today. The cathedral is well worth a visit if only for the 360-degree views from the top of its tower across the city, the Mersey and beyond. From this vantage point it is easy to see how beautiful and green Liverpool is and the relatively flat landscape gives views for miles.

The New Zealand Herald
Liverpool’s Anglican cathedral, the fifth largest in the world and also one of the tallest. The cathedral’s impressive exterior is matched by the sense of vast openness inside. Decoratively the inside of the Cathedral is relatively spartan; beautiful stained glass windows suggest a dash of colour.
